Film Cue is a free browser-based card game. We don't ask for your name, email, or any account. This policy explains the limited data we do collect and how we handle it.
When you create or join a match, a random room code is generated and stored temporarily in our database so both players can connect. Match results (scores, cards played) are stored after a game ends. This data contains no personally identifying information — there are no user accounts and we don't link game sessions to individuals.
If something goes wrong while you're playing, our error tracking service (Sentry) automatically captures technical information about the crash: what action triggered it, your browser type and version, and a stack trace. This may include your IP address. We use this data solely to find and fix bugs. Error reports are never used for advertising or shared for commercial purposes.
We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics to understand how players use the game. We collect pseudonymous usage data including page views, match events (started, completed, abandoned), and player pseudonyms (auto-generated film character names or names you choose). No cookies are set and IP addresses are masked. Data is processed in the United States by PostHog, Inc.
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes all web requests and may log standard server data such as IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. This is handled by Cloudflare's infrastructure and is subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy.
| Service | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Sentry | Error monitoring | sentry.io/privacy |
| PostHog | Anonymous product analytics | posthog.com/privacy |
| Supabase | Game data storage | supabase.com/privacy |
| Cloudflare | Hosting & CDN | cloudflare.com/privacypolicy |

Active lobby records are removed automatically when a match ends or after a short inactivity window. Match result records are retained indefinitely for game integrity purposes but contain no personal data. Sentry error reports are retained for 90 days.
Film Cue does not set tracking cookies. PostHog analytics uses in-memory storage only (no cookies or persistent identifiers). Sentry and Cloudflare may set functional cookies or use local storage as part of their normal operation. These are strictly technical — not used for advertising.
If you are located in the EU, UK, or California, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete data associated with you. Because we don't collect personal data directly and have no accounts, most of these rights have nothing to act on. If you believe Sentry has captured data about you in an error report and want it removed, contact us and we'll submit a deletion request on your behalf.
Film Cue is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the game after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
